A lot goes on behind the scenes. We’d like to show you what we’re getting up to and what’s been inspiring us.
Project Design Manager
Colin grew up in the small town of Inverness in Scotland where he spent many an hour constructing his dream house with Lego bricks. After watching his parents go through the process of building their family home, Colin’s future in the architectural world was settled in his mind. So, when the time came, he relocated to Edinburgh to study Architecture at UoE.
After graduating, Colin began working in Hong Kong where he was involved with completing an international airport terminal and various high-end mixed-use developments. He then returned to Edinburgh to work on educational projects for the university, a role that included establishing the university’s estate strategy. Since then, Colin has been in London engaged with primarily commercial projects for a number of prestigious companies.
Here at HCD, Colin will be working alongside our Development Director, Ben, and Patrick, our Senior Project Manager, to ensure the design and quality is maintained throughout the entire build process. From start to finish. His main goal is to add value to every project he works on, for both us and our clients. For Colin, this comes down to providing a better built environment for daily life, emphasising daylight, quality space and programmatic design.
What’s been your proudest moment since joining Hamilton Court Developments?
Two proud moments:
- Being able to come from a design background and quickly assist with the ongoing projects at HCD.
- Walking around Harrow Road and seeing the finish made me realise how proud I was to be working with such a design-conscious developer.
Tell us something about HCD that no one knows
In any given day we have at least three types of milk stocked: skimmed (for the dairy drinkers), lactose-free (for the people with issues) and oat milk (for the part-time vegans).
Who would you most like to design and build a house for?
My parents. I’d love to give something back to them after all they’ve provided me in my life to show my appreciation.
What has surprised you the most about working at HCD?
The relaxed nature of the office culture, vs the hard work going on between the screens and emails.
